Founded in 1804, Shimizu Corporation is renowned as one of the world’s leading international construction companies. Headquartered in Tokyo Japan, Shimizu Corporation has established a reputation for excellence through its vast experience in many local and international projects of different scopes.

Shimizu Corporation as the Design and Build Contractor has worked closely with the ONE KL team offering its experience, technical skills and expertise. Responsible for the design and construction of the building structure, architectural aspects and mechanical and electrical (M&E), Shimizu Corporation has offered a seamless package of services from conceptualisation planning to implementation and beyond. Shimizu Corporation Singapore and Tokyo design teams are involved in vetting the construction drawings before Shimizu Corporation Malaysia team and site teams took over to construct the building, thus playing a crucial role in supporting and implementing the design of ONE KL.


SCDA Architects is an award-winning architectural firm based in Singapore. SCDA was regarded as one of the 2003 Design Vanguard firms selected by the Architectural Record (Journal of The American Institute of Architects), and won the RIBA Worldwide Award for the Lincoln Modern in 2005.



Founded in the 1940s as consulting structural engineers, ARUP has now developed into a global design and business consulting firm, with 86 offices in 37 countries. ARUP provides consultancy services for every stage of a project – from inception to completion and beyond, in items such as façade engineering, mechanical, electrical, structural engineering, geotechnics, and other related items. The largest specialist façade consultancy, ARUP has the famous Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank (Hong Kong) and the Swiss RE headquarters (London) in its portfolio. ARUP was responsible for the design and build of the semi-unitised curtain wall used in ONE KL, specifying guidelines, materials as well as parameters for testing. ARUP was involved in every stage of the curtain wall development process – from system design and material choice, tender to prototype testing, project supervision and Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspection.


DJCoalition is an international lighting design consultancy firm specialising in the discipline of technology and design. DJCoalition employs architects, industrial designers and lighting designers to form a unique lighting design source. With projects in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, Dubai Festival City and Sydney Opera House are just some of the works in their portfolio. DJCoaliton’s core design platform for ONE KL lies in the details of the lighting system, integrated into the architecture. Each of the 95 swimming pools are lit forming part of the building's lighting. An analysis of the spatial volume of the duplex units also plays a key part in the design of ONE KL's lighting together with the importance of designing for form and function of the space.
